パンツ一丁の不機嫌オジサンが不気味なエイリアンをブチのめす『Gennady』紹介

今回は冴えないサラリーマンが怒りに身を任せて敵を殴打する『gennady』を紹介。灰汁の強いおじさん主人公と、グロテスクな敵キャラが作り出す独自の世界観が光った作品だ。他のゲームでは味わえない濃さを堪能したい方は要チェック。

不気味な世界観とは対照的に、ゲームシステムは基本に忠実なプラットフォームアクション。連休を邪魔されたパンツ一丁サラリーマンVS不気味なエイリアンという構図も魅力だ。

ジャンプとタックルという2種類の操作で足場を乗り継ぎ、手に取った丸太のようなブラスターガンで敵を爆破する。爆散した敵キャラは緑色の血を吹き出しながら破裂し、白黒の世界に鮮やかな鮮血を撒き散らす。どこかノワールな世界観と正反対のコメディ要素が混ぜ込まれており、独自の世界観を演出している点も今作の特徴といえるだろう。

In contrast to the eerie worldview, the game system is basic platform action. The composition of the game is also appealing: a pants-wearing businessman whose holiday weekend is interrupted vs. a creepy alien.

The player moves from scaffold to scaffold with two types of controls (jump and tackle) and blasts enemies with a log-like blaster gun in hand. The blasted enemy character bursts open, spewing green blood and splattering bright blood all over the black-and-white world. The somewhat noirish worldview is mixed with comedic elements that are the opposite of noir, creating a unique worldview that is the hallmark of this work.

Gennadyの注目ポイント

【日本語】
手書きで制作されたコミックアニメーションが魅力。白黒で暴力的なノワールの世界から抜けだし、ベタ塗りでポップに描かれた漫画風のデザインを合わせるセンスには頭が上がらない。モノクロで風刺的な作品は少なくないが、主人公がパンツしか履いていない不機嫌サラリーマンのパターンは多くないだろう。

印象的なビジュアルとは裏腹に、ゲームシステムが王道で遊びやすい点も見逃せない。トレーラーの挙動を見る限り、どことなくワリオランド風のアクションにも見える。ストアページの紹介欄を見ると、「殴る、撃つ、噛む」アクションが存在するようだ。まさに暴力の化身といえるだろう。

基本に忠実なゲームシステムに惜しげもない暴力を詰め込み、エイリアンが撒き散らす緑の血でデコレーションした今作。現状、開発段階でデモ版も用意されていないが、今後の開発に期待したいゲームだ。

The hand-drawn comic animation is mesmerizing. The sense of breaking away from the black-and-white, violent noir world and blending it with well-drawn pop art is irresistible. There are many black-and-white satirical films, but not many that feature a grumpy businessman in his underpants.

Despite the striking visuals, the game system is simple and straightforward. From the way the game behaves in the trailer, it looks somewhat like a Wario Land-style action game. According to the introduction section of the store page, “punch, shoot, and bite” actions seem to be present. It is truly violence incarnate.

The game system is faithful to the basics, sparingly packed with violence and colored with green blood spewed by the aliens. No demo version is available at this time, but we look forward to seeing what the future holds.
